Here at the Plough Inn, we have 3 real cask conditioned bitters always on sale.

Tetleys Bitter Cask, is a permanent ale, and our best seller

Brewed using Yorkshire Square fermenters, Tetley’s Cask has the smooth hop character of a classic Yorkshire bitter.

George Philliskirk of the Beer Academy says: “At a modest 3.8% ABV, Tetley’s is easy drinking and reliable – a true ‘session’ bitter. I developed a taste for it as a student at Leeds University and subsequently enjoyed many a pint in the Adelphi, a stone’s throw from the Tetley’s brewery in Leeds. A great pub for a great beer.”

John Smiths Bitter Cask is also a permanent bitter on our bar

Tadcaster’s finest ale is named after its favourite son. The original John Smith began brewing his unique, quaffable beer there in 1847 and with a ready market in the town’s thirsty mill workers and factory hands, the family business soon became something of an empire.

The UK’s Number 1 bitter… in a cask. Malty, bitter-sweet and slightly fruity, to boot 3.8% ABV.
